below should get you sorted. Just follow the step-by-step
directions and remember to buy the leanest meat cut
possible.
Okay, to make the beef jerky,
you’re going to need the following ingredients:
2 lbs lean beef sliced
into strips approximately ¼ in size
Half a teaspoon of
Basil
Half a teaspoon of Dried
Marjoram
Half a teaspoon of Ground Black
Pepper
Half a teaspoon of Ground
Oregano
Half a teaspoon of
Thyme
Half a teaspoon of Garlic
Salt
Half a teaspoon of Onion
Salt
Half a teaspoon of Sea
Salt
Step-by-Step
Instructions for Making the Paleo Beef Jerky Recipe
Step
1: Place all spice ingredients in a clean bowl.
Make sure to combine them well.
Step
2: Arrange
lean beef strips on an extra thick square cutting board or a
flat surface.
Sprinkle about half of the spice
ingredients over the beef strips. Now grab a meat pounder or
hammer and start pounding the ingredients to ensure they infuse
nicely with the beef strips.
Step
3: Once
you’ve done pounding the ingredients into one side of the
strips, turn them over so you can start working on the other
side. Repeat step 2 with the other side. Sprinkle the spices
and pound away!
Step
4: Line your
oven tray with baking foil and arrange the beef strips on it.
Pop tray in the oven and make sure you set the oven on the
lowest temperature. Also make sure the oven door is propped
open to release moisture.
Step
5: Allow the beef strips to dry out for
around six to eight hours. Once dry, you have to turn the
strips over and allow the other side dry out for another six to
eight hours. They’ll take some time to dry out depending on the
beef thickness and also your oven temperature. You decide when
they’re one hundred percent dried, and if you think the strips
are all well, good and ready, go grab an airtight
container.
Step
6: Store the beef jerky in the airtight
container or munch some if you like. If you store the beef
jerky in an airtight container, they’ll last for several months
as the various types of salt we used earlier will ensure their
longevity.
