Paleo Beef Stew Recipe
So you want to learn how to make a mouth-watering paleo beef
stew recipe? Okay, no problem. I’m going to show you how to do
it in a step-by-step fashion. Last week, I tried 4 different
paleo diet stews from these terrific
cookbooks.
The first one I made was the beef goulash. Next, I tried the
chicken mustard stew, followed by the paleo beef stew which I’m
about to share on this webpage. My verdict? The beef stew is
the best one. It’s not only sumptuous, but it’s also pretty
simple to make. Of course it takes a long time to cook being
it’s a stew recipe and all, but the preparations as well as the
methods involved were easy to me. Give it a try!
Beef Crock Pot Stew
Ingredients:
1 head cabbage roughly chopped into large chunks
1 onion, chopped
3 lbs beef chuck cut into one inch cubes
3 cups of beef stock
3 fresh tomatoes, chopped
5 carrots slice into one inch pieces
5 garlic cloves
6 shitake mushrooms
Some cooking fat
Sea salt to taste
Freshly ground black pepper to taste
Directions on
How to Make the Paleo Beef Stew Recipe with Shitake Mushrooms
and Cabbage
First
Step: We have to season the beef
cubes first. So apply some sea salt and ground black pepper on
the beef cubes for flavor.
Second
Step: Place the beef cubes in a crock
pot along with some cooking fat and set to medium heat. The
objective here is to brown the beef cubes. Make sure each side
of the cubes is well browned.
Third
Step: Remove the beef cubes from the
pot and set them aside. Now we need the pot for cooking the
chopped onion and shitake mushrooms. Dump the two ingredients
in the pot and allow them to cook until they become tender. It
should take approximately 5 minutes to soften the mushrooms and
onion. Add some more cooking fat if required.
Fourth
Step: Add in a bit of ground black and
pepper and sea salt in the pot containing the mushrooms and
onion. Next, grab the 5 garlic cloves and throw them in the
pot. Allow the mix to cook for another couple of minutes.
Fifth
Step: Take the beef cubes that you’ve
browned earlier and add them to the mushroom and onion mix.
Also add these ingredients: chopped fresh tomatoes, beef stock,
and sliced carrots. Season the whole thing with a bit more
freshly ground black pepper and sea salt. Do not add in the
cabbage just yet.
Sixth
Step: Cook the mixture for around
five to six hours on low heat.
Seventh
Step: Now’s the time to put in the
roughly chopped cabbage. Once you’ve add in the cabbage, allow
the stew to cook for another forty-five to sixty minutes.
Final
Step: Taste the stew. Add more
seasoning ingredients if required. Once everything is well and
good, gobble away!
