Top 5 Paleo Diet Snacks
A couple months back I purchased a downloadable paleo diet
sweets recipe book and I got to tell ya, I simply can’t believe
my luck! See all this while; I’ve been busting brains trying to
figure out how to make some mouth-watering paleo diet snacks.
You know, stuff like ice-cream, cookies, muffins, jelly, mousse
and what all. I used to eat these all the time before I got on
the paleo diet. At first I didn’t miss them much but after
awhile my cravings started kicking up into overdrive!
Sure, I’ve bought a few paleo recipe
cookbooks but the snacks section in those books left
me wanting for more. Basically, I wanted a book that focuses
exclusively on paleo snack recipes and ideas. No dinner, lunch,
main course recipes because I already have so many of those in
my possession. So the paleo sweets recipe made me feel like I’m
in sweet heaven, and I’ve been real busy trying out various
paleo diet snacks described in the book.
Yup, it’s been 2 months since I stumbled upon the book and
I’ve already tried 33 different paleo sweets recipes. Not bad
huh? There are 82 recipes in total so it’ll take time for me to
go through them all. Anyway, just for the heck of it, I decided
to present my top 5 favorite paleo diet snack recipes from the
book, out of the 33 that I’ve given a whirl. I’d probably
update this list once I’ve test drive all 82 recipes.
Passion Fruit
Cake
Passion fruit cake with
coconut milk on
top!
Man this paleo-friendly fruit cake tastes great. It sure
tastes like the real thing to me and I’m so glad it was
included in the book. I love its amalgamation of tastes that
include honey, passion fruit, vanilla essence plus a hint of
macadamia oil. You don’t need an awful lot of ingredients to
make this paleo fruit cake. Only 6 different ingredients are
required for the cake and the core ingredient being the passion
fruit pulp derived from approximately 5 – 6 passion fruits.
Paleo Banana
Muffins
yummy
paleo muffins!
So I posted a picture here of some paleo style banana
muffins and they look absolutely lip-smacking, don’t you think
so? Well good news is the muffins taste as good as it appears
in the photo PROVIDED you get the mixture done correctly! But
don’t worry though, easy-to-follow directions are provided in
the paleo sweets recipe book so you just follow along and I
reckon you’re going to be fine, really. Don’t try to get cute
and creative by drastically changing up the
ingredients/measurements, or you might just mess up the flavor
like my cousin did the other day.
Pistachio and Rose
Cookies

This is one of my favorite paleo diet snacks in the book
because the cookies are so easy to make. The recipe may be
simple but the flavor is quite yummy. Some people think that if
a cookie recipe is too simple, then the end product’s flavor is
likely to be ho-hum. Well, that’s not the case with these
paleo-friendly cookies. Sure they look rather bland but I
enjoyed them tremendously. Next time I bake these cookies, I’m
going to add more rosewater essence!
Ginger & Honey
Hearts

Here’s another easy paleo cookies. You only need a handful
of ingredients to produce approximately 12 to 16 pieces of
cookie. Some almond meal, honey, ginger, arrowroot flour and
macadamia butter are all you need to make the cookies you see
above. Obviously the amount you’re able to produce depends on
the size of your heart-shaped cookie cutter. My cutter is
pretty large so I managed to churn out about 10 cookies only,
in accordance to the measurements described in the paleo sweets
recipe book.
Vanilla Bean
Ice-Cream
The
paleo ice-cream tastes surprisingly
good!
See the ice-cream in the above photo? It’s delicious as sin!
Thing is I never knew you could make a wide range of great
tasting paleo diet ice-creams. More than a dozen paleo-friendly
ice-cream recipes are featured in the book such as raspberry
and macadamia pots, watermelon and coconut, peach and honey,
and more. Of course the regular ones like chocolate and
strawberry are included as well. The vanilla bean is the only
ice-cream recipe I’ve done so far and like I said earlier, the
taste is delicious, though certainly not as good as the real
thing.
Other Paleo
Diet Snacks worth Mentioning
From the top of my head, I would say the chocolate avocado
mousse was awesome. There’s the raspberry and almond milk jelly
which the wife loves to no end. I like it too but not as much
as the layered passion fruit and watermelon jelly. I truly
believe the latter taste a lot better, especially with the
watermelon juice added to the mix.
The paleo-friendly pecan butter is also darn swell. Man,
they’re too many awesome paleo diet snacks in the book. I could
yammer all day here and I’ve only tried 33 out of the 82 listed
in the recipe book. So check them out via the link below.
There’s a bonus paleo protein bar recipes book included and
this is a very good resource for weightlifters who’re on the
paleo diet.
