3 Very Truly Yummy Paleo Lunch Recipes

The Paleo diet is based on the eating habits of prehistoric cavemen. The diet is based on the concept of only eating food products that can be found in nature. For example, the following food products are allowed in the Paleo diet:

  • lean meat
  • Fish
  • mushrooms
  • vegetables
  • nuts
  • roots
  • fruit

Food products that do not fall under any over the previously mentioned categories are not allowed. If you are serious about sticking to your Paleo diet you will need to learn how to prepare Paleo dishes with ingredients that can be found in nature. The following recipe is a great Paleo lunch dish that you can prepare in a few minutes.

Recipe 1: Paleo Kebab

paleo diet kebab dish

It is very easy to prepare the Paleo Kebab. You can place whatever you want on the Kebab stick but the following ingredients are recommended:

  • chili pepper
  • lean diced beef or pork
  • Mushrooms
  • Pepper
  • Onions
  • And any other vegetables you can think of.

You can use a grill to cook the Kebab or you can simply fry all of the ingredients separately and attach them to a Kebab stick. Don’t worry about your Kebab going cold – cold Kebabs are quite delicious. You should also consider preparing a side dish to go along with your Kebab like a salad for example.

Of course, if you are new to the Paleo diet you will instinctively want to sprinkle salt and other condiments onto your Kebab to add additional flavor.  It is okay to sprinkle some salt on to your Paleo dishes but do not make it a habit – salt is not a part of the Paleo diet and it is best to avoid using salt on your Paleo dishes.

So if you are wondering what to cook for lunch today; how about treating yourself to a Kebab? It will take you 10-15 minutes to prepare 2-3 delicious Kebab sticks.

Recipe 2: Paleo Steak and Eggs

If you are looking for a Paleo dish to prepare for lunch I highly recommend steak and eggs. You can prepare a steak and egg dish in about 20 minutes if you have all the ingredients at your disposal. The only ingredients that you will need to prepare this dish are the following.

Ingredients

  • Steak
  • Eggs
  • Butter or fat
  • And condiments to add more flavor to the dish.

Before you start preparing the dish make sure to clean your kitchen and place all of the ingredients needed for this dish on top of your kitchen counter top for easy access (mise en place!). Additionally, remember to de-frost your steak for about 40 minutes before you start cooking it.

Preparation

  1. Place a pan on the stove and set the stove to low heat.
  2. Place the butter or fat into the pan and cook until it starts to sizzle (2-3 minutes) then place the steak into the pan and sprinkle condiments such as pepper and salt onto the steak.
  3. Cook the steak to your desired level and remove from the pan.
  4. Crack the two eggs into the pan and place a lid over the pan to cook the top area of the eggs. The eggs will be finished in about 4 minutes.
  5. Put the eggs either on top of the steak or next to the steak.
  6. Do not over-cook the eggs; the idea is to let the egg yolk soak into the steak. Sprinkle additional condiments on to your steak and eggs and indulge.

So if you are looking for a Paleo lunch to prepare yourself consider steak and eggs. In order to improve the meal you can consider toasting some Paleo bread with almond butter. Steak and eggs is a great Paleo lunch that does not require a lot of preparation. Just make sure to de-frost the steak before you start cooking.

Recipe 3: Scrambled Eggs with Paleo Bread and Lox

paleo bread with scrambled eggs

The Paleo diet does not allow the use of dairy and commercially refined food products so if you want to make yourself a Paleo dish you need to make sure that the ingredients you use are 100% natural.

If you have recently committed to a Paleo based diet you probably want to learn how to cook some easy dishes for yourself or for guests. The Paleo dish we are going to teach you in this article is simple and will take approximately 10 minutes to prepare.

You will need the following ingredients to prepare this Paleo lunch dish:

  • 4 eggs
  • vegetable oil
  • Lox

Paleo bread (If you cannot find a bakery where you can purchase Paleo bread you can consider baking your own Paleo bread.)

Now to the preparation of this delicious Paleo lunch:

  1. Pour a small amount of vegetable oil into a bowl, crack the eggs into the bowl, and beat thoroughly.
  2. Place a pan on the stove and place the stove on a low heat setting. Allow the pan to heat up before you pour the eggs into the pan.
  3. Place the eggs into the pan and slowly stir them with a spatula every couple of minutes.
  4. While you are cooking the eggs slice two pieces of Paleo bread and place them into your toaster.
  5. When the eggs are done the toaster should pop – grab the Paleo bread and place the bread on to a plate – butter the bread with almond butter.
  6. Use your spatula to place the scrambled eggs on top of each piece of toasted bread.
  7. Place strips of Lox over the eggs at artistic angles and enjoy.

I recommend that you choose a Paleo soup to prepare and enjoy a long with your scrambled eggs dish.  Regardless, now you know how to prepare a simple Paleo lunch dish that can be prepared in a short amount of time.

Embracing the Paleolithic Diet in the Modern Age

Also known as “The Caveman Diet”, the Paleolithic diet is based on the presumed diet of our hunter-gatherer human ancestors during the Upper Paleolithic Era, which ended about 10,000 years ago.

humans of the Upper Paleolithic Era

The foods are those that could have been hunted or gathered in the locations where those ancestors primarily thrived from about 35,000 years ago, when the technology of fire and fishing implements were most likely introduced.

For the most part, these Stone Age nomads ate wild game meat, shellfish, leafy wild vegetables, fruit, nuts, and insects when and where they were available. This hearty diet ended at the start of the Neolithic agricultural revolution, when a nomadic lifestyle was considered obsolete and unnecessary.

The Neolithic Era, however, ended up having major dietary problems, including mass famine and malnutrition, leading many nutritionists to believe that the Upper Paleolithic diet was ideal for our newly-evolved human bodies.

Our modern-day version of this diet is very similar to the ancient Paleolithic diet, and encourages the consumption of wild game and grass-fed meats, as well as fish and shellfish, vegetables low in carbohydrates, fresh fruit, fungi, roots such as carrots, beets and radishes that contain some healthier carbohydrates, and nuts.

Only 23% of the diet consists of carbs, so this means no grains or bread, legumes such as soybeans and lentils, dairy products, starchy root vegetables like potatoes, refined sugar or salt, or processed oils. It is advised that fructose and gluten are especially avoided, but naturally-found items such as spices are perfectly acceptable.

The Paleolithic diet is an especially healthy choice for all of us in our time because it excludes the fillers that make up so much of our diets. Lean meats that are free of antibiotics are much healthier than other less natural choices, and the vegetables allowed by this diet are full of vitamins and minerals—nutrients that improve the body by giving it the things it really needs to function at maximum efficiency.

Carb-loading is a big problem for most of us right now, as they get us full but don’t really do anything else for us, especially if we don’t burn off the energy right away. As we, for the most part, have constant access to a wide variety of choices when it comes to what we eat, this diet encourages the consumption of only the most necessary of foods. This diet is good for us anytime, as we can adapt the diet to fit any part of the year.

During the colder months, more meat is necessary to keep our bodies warm, and the amount of meat can be increased to protect us from the harsher weather. When our bodies need to be leaner and fitter during the spring and summer for increased outdoor activity, the Paleolithic diet contains a wide variety of fresh fruits, vegetables and nuts, which provide more than sufficient nutrition. We all need this kind of food.

This is the food that was integral for our ancient ancestors just as they were evolving into the humans we are today. It fueled our evolution and helped us to become a stronger, smarter race. We thrived on this food outdoors in many different locations and climates, and it’s good for everyone wherever they live.

This food is taken right from the Earth and not processed to make it cheaper or easier for us to get. This is a conscientious dietary choice for anyone who wants to optimize their body’s functions and make it a more efficient and healthy machine.

The modern diet is extremely unnatural and lends itself to creating fatigue and lackluster appearance and performance. Your body is also vulnerable to disease and illness. The more processed foods and anti-nutrients you consume the worse it gets.

In order to be successful on this eating plan, you need a cookbook so you can whip up Paleo diet recipes. In our world, we are constantly under pressure and time constraints. Getting a healthy dinner on the table is challenging enough.

When you don’t know what to cook or how to cook it, you can’t be successful on this eating plan. Paleo diet recipes let you quickly and easily eat optimally and quickly, while staying faithful to the principles of the Paleo eating plan.

You need your own Paleo diet book so you can make the switch to this healthier way of eating and enjoying your health benefits. Only by making the switch to this new eating plan will you realize your body’s true potential.

Think of your body like a complex machine that needs only the best and select fuels to run at its optimum level. The Paleo diet gives you that. The Paleolithic diet is mirrored after what Ancient Man ate. Although skeptics will say that Ancient Man didn’t live long, what they don’t realize is the Paleo man did not suffer from diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and a host of other chronic illnesses. When he died young it was from germs and illness.

Modern medicine has afforded us protections against the threats the Paleo man had against him. Why not enjoy the best the Paleo man had going for him? The Paleo diet plan. Start today and feel better tomorrow.

The longer you eat this way, the better you will feel. Before long the fatigue and lifelessness you feel will be a dim memory. You will love the new you so much eating any other way will be a ludicrous proposition. Start eating the Paleo way today.

Our Stone Age ancestors ate well. Nobody needed to tell them that certain foods provide more energy than others or that too much fat in food usually ends up as too much fat on them. Their bodies knew these things.

Their diet consisted of the animals and plants around them, and because what they ate was natural, they never experienced the sluggishness and poor health associated with more recently invented processed foods. This cookbook includes hundreds of recipes based on the Paleolithic way of eating that kept the cavemen so healthy. It is the only book you will need for creating perfect Paleo menus.

The myriad claims of fad diets can overwhelm us. One touts the benefits of meat and protein; another argues only vegetables are healthy. Some diets even include only one type of food. A Paleo menu gets back to basics by emphasizing a variety of foods such as meat, eggs, fish, nuts, seeds, vegetables, and fresh fruits.

It does not include grains or refined sugar, as these items did not exist in Paleolithic times. Many people in our busy society shy away from such whole foods based diets because they feel these items take too long to prepare. But, the Paleo cook book makes this way of eating easy and delicious.

Most people want to include more natural foods in their diet, but they worry about the time and effort it takes to prepare meals from scratch. As a result, we consume far too much fast, easy, and, frankly, unhealthy food. This cookbook shows the reader how to prepare natural foods in a hassle-free, quick way that will fit every person’s lifestyle.

The book also shows the correct way to cook these foods by using the same methods our hunter-gatherer ancestors did. The recipes are not only nutritious and nourishing, but quite tasty. With some creativity, the author has made these age-old foods delicious by combining them with spices, herbs, and natural oils.

A Paleo menu doesn’t allow refined sugar, but that doesn’t mean the cookbook skips desserts. The author includes several fresh fruit recipes to satisfy sugar cravings naturally.

Every dieter knows the perils of fad dieting: A person loses weight quickly only to put it back on again within a few months, or cravings make a diet impossible to keep. The Paleo cook book shows readers how to stick with Paleo eating and make it a lifestyle.

Further, people generally feel better eating these nutritionally dense foods because they help regulate blood sugar, increase metabolism, and provide more energy. Once people start eating right, junk food cravings diminish. However, this cookbook provides suggestions for continuing to eat right even when those cravings occur.

A healthy lifestyle involves more than just informed food choices. However, with so much junk food out there, it is refreshing to see a Paleo cook book which makes preparing non-processed, organic food easier. Professionals claim that there is both obesity and a Type II diabetes epidemic in the U.S.

They argue that a poor diet is mostly to blame. Because the Paleo diet reduces sugar intake and is composed only of natural foods, it is a great start to combating both of these epidemics, and this cookbook makes the diet easy to implement and fun to eat.

The Paleo diet is also known as the Caveman Diet or the Hunter Gatherer diet. It allows its followers to eat only what could’ve been gathered, hunted, and fished. Lean meats, eggs, nuts, fruits, and vegetables are all allowed. Dairy and carbs are not.

The Paleo Diet Crossfit lifestyle works well for those who are looking to increase their fitness across all ten fitness domains as recognized by Crossfit. This intense workout requires the best fuel to support your systems. It’s a great way to eat to fuel Crossfit workouts because not only do you not measure anything you will not go hungry. Instead, you will feast on lean meats and proteins.

The Paleo Diet Crossfit lifestyle lets you consume high quality protein and carbs. The difference between high quality carbs in vegetables in fruits and eating processed carbs is astounding in terms of how your body will run. The Paleo diet is fuel for Crossfit workouts.

The Paleo Diet Crossfit lifestyle will work very well for anyone committed to the Crossfit workouts. There are five key foods on the Paleo Diet that will best serve as fuel for the intensity of Crossfit workouts.

Eggs

Eggs will give your body the perfect protein. You need protein to fuel muscle development. In fact, when you do not feed your body adequate levels of protein and you work out at intense levels, your body will steal protein from your muscle mass. To avoid that, eat enough pure, high quality protein to keep your muscles at their peak.

Broccoli

Broccoli will serve up healthy carbs for your body. The Paleo diet improves your endurance, strength, and performance. Our bodies were built to process and use the foods on the Paleo diet. When you eliminate processed foods from our diets, our bodies respond favorably. Unlike Neolithic carbs, broccoli will not spike your blood sugar. Your glycemic index will stay low.

Bananas

Bananas will really help you with your post-workout recovery. Let Neolithic eaters fill up on pastas and other refined carbs. Your banana will help you recover more fully and more quickly than any Neolithic food out there.

Salmon

Salmon will provide a terrific source of healthy Omegas. And eliminating those processed foods from your diet will decrease the bad Omegas. The result? Decreased inflammation in your body. That not only increases your health, but increases your athletic performance.

Almonds are a terrific Paleo diet contribution for the Crossfit follower. High in protein, absent carbs and great for your cholesterol levels and your heart. The Paleo Diet Crossfit lifestyle is good for you all around. What are you waiting for? A better level of fitness and health is on the other side of eliminating modern foods from your diet.

The Paleo diet is also ideal for traditional running sessions!

If you’re looking to increase your stamina, endurance, and performance as a runner, then you may be checking into the Paleo diet. If what you want is to run faster, harder, and farther, then you may want to think about a shift in lifestyle. Lifestyle is really the key word here, because the Paleo diet is not a diet as much as it is a shift in gears for your eating habits.

A lot of runners are considering the Caveman diet, as the Paleo way of eating is often called. The reason is simple: it promises better athletic performance. The premise is really pretty uncomplicated. Ancient Man did not eat as we eat today. It was not out of some religious observance or finicky preference.

Many of the foods that have become staples of our diet today were simply not invented at this time in history. Wheat, corn, rice and the like are all fairly modern food inventions. Ancient Man had to run fast, lift heavy objects, remain alert, and, above all, endure. This wasn’t something he did to compete.

He did these things to stay alive. His diet allowed him peak performance and maximum health. It’s been estimated that the Paleo man transverse about ten miles a day. He did this while hunting food. And he did it without a tremendous amount of struggle. This is due to his superior diet.

Before you get skeptical about the idea of paleo eating for the runner, think about this: Ancient Man did not get diabetes, heart disease and cancer. He died from lack of medical care, not from the consequences of his diet.

Many trainers are embracing the Paleo diet for their athletes because the science simply makes sense. When you eliminate the processed foods, the manufactured foods, and the invented foods, you remove the anti-nutrients we shovel into our bodies each day. What you’re left with is just less messed with foods, and those are definitely healthy.

The Paleo diet does for runners what healthy foods do for runners: increase the ability of the body to perform. The Paleo way of eating is about lean meats, healthy fats, and vegetables. Nothing you eat will be anything that is absent nutrients or bad for you.

Every bite you take will be nothing but pure fuel for the body. Our bodies were not designed to ingest the bulk of what we eat as a part of our modern “healthy” diets. Our bodies have not yet evolved to fully and effectively process the “healthy” foods we’ve created for ourselves.

When you make the shift to Paleo eating, your body begins to hum like a well-oiled machine. That’s because it can run at optimal levels because you’re giving the proper fuel. Nothing extra to gunk up the system.

If you are a runner, consider making the switch to the Paleo diet. Your body will reward your efforts with increased effort, performance, and endurance. You will be running like you have never run before. Those who’ve made the switch can’t say enough about it.
